Membership.io Free Trial 2026: 30 Days Free or 3 Months for $99
Written by people who pay for this software · Pricing and offer terms checked August 2026 · Destination links auto-checked 21 August 2026
Membership.io publishes two entry offers on its own site: 30 days of the Grow plan free, or three months of the same plan for one $99 payment. We took the paid route, because a migration eats a 30-day trial alive. Here is how to choose, and how to spend the time.
The standard trial is short — roughly a week, which is enough to click around and not much else. The offer at membership.io/30 extends that to 30 days free on the Grow plan. The offer at membership.io/99 sells three months of Grow for $99, about $33 a month against a $119 list price. Both were verified in August 2026; confirm what you are getting on the signup screen.
The three routes compared
| Route | Length | Cost | Plan | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard trial | ~7 days | Free | Grow-level access | A quick look at the interface |
| Extended trial (membership.io/30) | 30 days | Free | Grow | Evaluating properly without spending |
| $99 offer (membership.io/99) | 90 days | $99 once | Grow | Migrating a library and launching |
After either free trial, Grow continues at $119 a month unless you cancel or drop to Start at $49. The $99 offer renews at $119 after three months on the same terms.
A 30-day plan that gives you a real answer
Thirty days is enough to test the one thing that actually matters: whether your content becomes more useful inside this platform. Do not spend it on design — we did, and redid it anyway once real members arrived.
- Days 1–3: run the AI Hub Builder. Describe what you sell and let it lay out the hub, then edit. Starting from a draft is far faster than from an empty page.
- Days 4–10: upload at least ten real recordings. Not samples — your actual calls, workshops or lessons. Transcription is what powers AI Search, so the platform is only testable once real content is in it.
- Days 11–14: search like a member would. Look for a phrase you know was said eight months ago. If it takes seconds to find and play from that moment, you have just seen the whole argument for this platform.
- Days 15–20: set up the community and one learning path. Open a space, post a welcome, and build a path that takes a new member from joining to a first win.
- Days 21–25: invite five real members. Existing clients or your warmest audience. Watch where they get stuck; their confusion is more informative than any feature list.
- Days 26–29: connect payments and price it. Set up the checkout and take one real payment — even $1 — to see the join experience end to end.
- Day 30: decide. Continue on Grow at $119, drop to Start at $49 if one hub and 50 media hours cover you, or leave with your export in hand.
When the $99 offer is the better choice
Take the paid route if: you are migrating an existing membership, where uploading and re-organising a library takes more than a month; you want to launch to real members and see a full billing cycle; you are running a founding cohort this quarter; or you know a 30-day clock will turn into rushed setup and an unfair verdict.
Stay free if: you have not decided whether to run a membership at all; you are comparing this against Circle, Skool or Kajabi and want to try each; or you have no content ready to upload, in which case 30 days is plenty to find out.
The maths is straightforward: 90 days for $99 is about $33 a month, less than the Start plan, on the tier with custom domains and three hubs.
Watch the media hours during a trial
Media hours are a cumulative pool, not a monthly allowance — Grow includes 250 hours in total, ever. If you are bulk-uploading a back catalogue during a trial, that pool is the number to watch. A weekly 90-minute call is 78 hours a year, so most coaching memberships are comfortable for years; a daily video show is not. Details on our pricing page.
Cancelling cleanly
- Diarise the date at signup: day 27 of a 30-day trial, day 80 of the $99 quarter.
- Export your member list before anything else. Your members are the business.
- Keep master video files elsewhere. Transcripts and hubs are rebuildable; source footage you no longer have is not.
- Consider Start rather than leaving. At $49 a month with unlimited members and one hub, it keeps a small membership alive while you decide.
What a trial cannot tell you
It will not tell you whether people will pay, whether you can sustain a weekly rhythm, or whether your topic supports recurring revenue — those are business questions, and no platform answers them. What it will tell you is whether uploading, organising and finding content is fast enough that you will actually keep doing it, and whether your members can navigate what you have built. That is worth 30 days of attention, or $99 for a quarter of it.
If you are still choosing between platforms, our ranked comparison and Membership.io vs Circle and Skool cover the alternatives without pretending there is one right answer. Terms verified August 2026 — confirm at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Does Membership.io have a free trial?
Yes. There is a standard trial of about a week, and a separate offer published at membership.io/30 that gives you 30 days of the Grow plan free. The extended trial is the one worth using — a week is not enough to move content across and invite members.
What is the difference between the 30-day trial and the $99 deal?
The 30-day offer is a free extended trial of Grow. The $99 offer, published at membership.io/99, is three months of Grow for one payment — about $33 a month. Pick one: 30 days free to evaluate, or 90 days paid to launch properly.
Which plan does the trial give me?
The Grow plan, which is the tier with three Member Hubs, 250 media hours, five team seats, the AI Hub Builder, custom branding and custom domains. Unlimited members and 0% transaction fees apply on every plan, trial included.
Do I need a credit card to start?
Expect to enter payment details when starting a trial — that is standard across this category. Put a reminder in your calendar for day 27 so the decision to continue is deliberate rather than automatic.
What happens to my hub if I do not continue?
Your hub stops serving members and the account becomes inactive. Export your member list and keep master copies of your video files outside the platform before that date — rebuilding a hub is quick, recovering content from a closed account is not.
Can I take the trial and then the $99 offer?
Treat them as alternatives rather than a sequence, since both are new-customer offers. If you want the longest runway for the least money, the $99 route gives you 90 days rather than 30. Terms verified August 2026 — confirm at checkout.
